NCPMI extends and deepens the work of numerous faculty members and research scholars from multiple institutions who have contributed to the development of the Pyramid Model for Promoting Social and Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children.
This work began in 2001 with the Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) funded by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families from 2001-2011 (#PHS90YD0119; #PHS90YD0215) and continued through an explicit collaboration with the Center for Evidence-Based Practice: Young Children with Challenging Behavior funded by the Office of Special Education Programs #H324Z010001 in 2002 and the Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children #H326B070002 funded in 2008.
This work has also been informed by multiple research grants and scholarly work conducted by Pyramid Model researchers and students.
